Illuminated Text Sonnets

Mrs. Pongratz challenged her Senior English and British Literature students to share the meaning of a sonnet with original "illuminated text" animations. The students creatively used Keynote to create their animation projects. Here are a couple of student samples:

2010 NETA Contest Winners Announced!

Congratulations to several O'Neill Public Schools students and teachers for winning awards in NETA's annual contests.

The OHS Twitter account, and its embedded interactivity with the O'Neill High School webpage, is maintained by Mike Peterson. It was a winner in the "Web 2.0 Tools-Teacher" category.

The above image, by Davita Dick, won 1st place in the Grades 6-8 Digital Imagery Contest.

Tayler Alder was a 2nd place winner in the Grades 6-8 Digital Imagery Contest with her photo entitled "Old Board and Shoe."

In the Grades 9-12 division of the Graphic Imagery contest, Erin Gotschall received an honorable mention award.

Laura Lueninghoener created this video for Mrs. Brown's Spanish Class and was a winner in the Open Category.

The Digital Divas were winners in the Web 2.0 Tools - Student Contest for their website and collaboration in Rock Our World 11: Tolerance

CHALLENGE BASED LEARNING PROJECT

QUESTION:How would you change health care in the United States?

Read the Wikipedia site posted on Angel.CBL Project--Intro

You will work in groups of 3.Research the question and create a plan.The plan must be based on research.Be ready to discuss the pros and cons of your plan.Use technology (ppt., iMovie, podcast, etc.) to present you plan.Every student in your group must contribute to the project.

You will be given 3 days to work on this project in class.Presentation will be given on Wed. Nov. 11th.The presentations will be videotaped.

Day 1—Intro to question and research plan ideas.

Day 2—Create presentation

Day 3—Complete the presentation and peer edit.

Day 4—Presentations

This is a very short quick project.You will have no time to waste.You need to work together and share responsibilities in order to complete on time.

Yourproject will be evaluated based on the following rubric:
